“He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:20-22 NKJV
A vertical relationship is one in which one person is superior to another in some ways, making one party a benefactor and the other a beneficiary of the relationship.
It can also be a relationship that exists between a suzerain and a vassal king. In our case, it is a relationship that exists between God and His people. We are the beneficiaries and He is the benefactor. We are the “vassals”, He is the 'suzerain'.
Our vertical relationship with God is the most important relationship we can have. He is superior to us in every respect and we can draw so much from Him on the basis of our relationship with Him.
This is fundamental because if we are found wanting in this relationship, it affects other aspects of relationships in our lives.
Father, help me to build an uncompromising relationship with You IJN.
Shalom!
