“But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”” Matthew 16:23 NKJV
There are many voices so you have to be sensitive to the person who is really speaking to you. Peter identified Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God (vs 16). However, when Jesus began to reveal the deeper truths of His mission, His suffering and death that were fast approaching, Peter began to rebuke Him(vs 22).
Anything that stands to hinder the purpose of God for your life cannot be from God. That is why you need to learn to discern the voice of the enemy, even though he tries to speak through your best friend.
Train yourself to discern voices so as not to be a victim of Satan’s deception. Study God’s word regularly so that you know how God speaks. Pray in tongues regularly. Have a priority to please God.
I come against every spirit of confusion, deception and seduction. Lord, give me a discerning heart to distinguish voices and pursue Your will IJN.
Shalom!
