“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 KJV
As long as you are living on this planet, someone will offend you. As long as you are involved in relationships, offenses will come and will be more painful the closer you get to people. It is part and parcel of living on the earth.
You have to decide right from the onset that you will forgive. Do not sustain unforgiveness for any reason. That is one of the first conditions that you must settle in your heart. In fact the only condition that Jesus mentioned as the single, and most powerful obstacle to faith is unforgiveness. Nothing will justify unforgiveness in your heart except you are not expecting God to do something for you.
Unforgiveness does something strange to your spirit; it short-circuits your faith. It’s like you have an electric appliance that was working and you didn’t know when the cable was pulled out of the socket and the gadget just stopped functioning. That is exactly what unforgiveness does to your faith. It pulls your faith out of the socket of divine power.
Father, I receive a forgiving spirit and decide not to live in unforgiveness and offence IJN.
Shalom!
Father, please help me not to live in unforgiveness again.
