“Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him. With them alone he shares the secrets of his promises.” Psalm 25:14 (TLB)
If you want to build a deep relationship with God, you have to slow down and be quiet. No service you do today is more important than that relationship.
Friendship with God is like any other friendship, you have to make time for it. If you don’t make time for your friends, they’re not going to be your close friends. Similarly, if God is going to be your best friend, you’ve got to give your best time to him.
The Bible says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NIV).
To establish a friendship with God, you need to have a daily quiet time. You have to be still so that you can know him better.
Psalm 25:14 says, “Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him. With them alone he shares the secrets of his promises” (TLB).
What kind of friendship would you have if you never invested your time in it?
Friendship need attention. You will never know God intimately if you do not spend time with Him. You’ve got to read God’s Word daily and ask him, “God, is there anything you want to say to me?” You don’t need big theological words. Just talk to him authentically. And then listen!
Father, give me the grace to daily have an awesome fellowship with you IJN.
Shalom!
