“When Jesus saw him lying there, he knew that the man had been crippled for a long time. Jesus said to him, “Do you truly long to be well?” The sick man answered, “Sir, there’s no way I can get healed, for I have no one to lower me into the water when the angel comes. As soon as I try to crawl to the edge of the pool, someone else jumps in ahead of me.” Jesus said to him, “Stand up! Pick up your sleeping mat and you will walk!”” John 5:6-8 TPT
Everybody has a story, but many stories are unnecessary. If it does not edify, it is unnecessary.
The question Jesus asked the sick man did not actually call for a long story. It requires a quick ‘yes’ or ‘no’. People use stories to justify their woes, frustrations and failures.
No amount of stories can bring about a change. The best stories can bring is sympathy. As long as you continue to justify your situations, it will take God’s grace and mercy to bring about a change.
Stories kill faith and testimonies kill fear. We can only overcome by the word of our testimonies and not stories. Everybody has a past but this should not hinder your glorious future.
The Lord will transform your terrible stories to glory and all your tests to testimonies and obstacles to miracles. Faith attracts miracles. Believe God for a glorious future.
Shalom!
