“And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings.” Lev 6:12 NKJV
The fire on the altar in the Old Testament was a shadow of the power of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.
Believers who do not keep the fire of the Holy Spirit burning and alive in their lives may not go far in their spiritual journey. It is like stoking a fire, and adding fresh dry wood every morning so it continually burns hot.
Any fire set up without refuelling will go off. However, if dry wood is added regularly, there will be a very bright and intense fire burning. Consequently, the carrier and all those around will feel the warmth and effect.
The fire of the Holy Spirit can die down like a bed of embers without fuel if the carrier does not desire and ensure constant in-filling in the place of prayer, the Word and its practice, regular attendance of genuine fellowship and service unto the Lord.
Father, please help me that Your fire in my life will never go out IJN
Shalom!
