“Rather he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:7 NKJV
Although He was God, possessing all His attributes, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable, Jesus did not cling to the privileges of deity.
Instead, He gave them up to become a man subject to pain, suffering, temptation, thirst, hunger, and a need for sleep.
Though He could have chosen to come as a king into a magnificent palace with an array of palace attendants, He, instead was born to a poor couple in a lowly manger. This is the story of His birth.
Through the ultimate and horrific sacrifice of death on the cross, Jesus paid for the debt we owed for our sins we never could pay.
He humbly went about doing good. He suffered pain, betrayal, and desertion. He was obedient unto death, so that we could be reconciled to God through Him.
This is the redemption story that was commenced at the birth of Jes us in Bethlehem Manger.
What would life and history be like, had Jesus never been born?
Thank you Jesus, for making yourself nothing so I could be redeemed.
Shalom!
Thank you Jesus 🙇♀️
