“Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38 NKJV
Mary’s story about becoming pregnant by the Holy Spirit risked being considered crazy, stoned to death, ridiculed, rejected, etc. Mary said, despite the possible risks, may everything you said about me come true.
God’s announcement of the birth of a special child was met with various responses throughout the scripture. Sarah, Abraham’s wife, laughed (Gen. 18:8-15). Zechariah doubted (Lk 1:18).
By contrast, Mary graciously submitted. She believed the angel's words and agreed to bear the child, even under humanly impossible circumstances.
God is able to do the impossible. Our response to His demands should not be laughter or doubt but willing acceptance with rugged faith.
Check your response to God’s words and promises.
Shalom!
