“And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.” Hebrews 9:22(NASB)
Today we remember the most expensive gift anyone has ever given us: God’s grace through the shedding of the blood. It’s free to us, but it cost God’s Son his life.
Before we celebrate Easter on Sunday, we must remember what Jesus did for us on the cross on Good Friday.
When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the penalty for our sin. He broke the power of sin, so we have the power to change the hurts, habits, and hang-ups that keep us from God’s purpose in our lives.
Under the old covenant, almost everything and every person had to be purified by blood, however under the new covenant, something greater than purification took place: forgiveness of sins for humanity: "For without the shedding of blood (the blood of the sinless Son of God) there is no forgiveness of sins."
Father, thank You for the new and better Covenant inaugurated at Calvary, for without the shedding of Jesus’ sinless and precious blood there would have been no forgiveness of my sins.
I praise and thank You that Jesus died for me and gave me Your Holy Spirit to live Your life in me. Help me to live a life of holiness IJN.
Shalom!
Thank you Jesus for your Perfect Sacrifice.
