Where Art Thou?

“And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?” Genesis 3:9

In Genesis 3, after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they hid themselves from the presence of the Lord among the trees. Then God called out to Adam with a question: “Where art thou?”

The Lord, who sees all things, certainly knew Adam’s location. The question was an invitation for Adam to recognize his spiritual condition and step out of hiding.

Beloved, God still asks this question in many hearts today. When we drift in disobedience, shame often pushes us to hide from the very One who can restore us.

When you hear the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit in your heart, do not hide or run away. Come honestly before God, and let your heart burn again with love and devotion for the One who calls you back to Himself.

Father, thank You for lovingly calling me back whenever I drift IJN.

Shalom!
