“Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” Ephesians 5:33 NKJV
God wants His children to have successful Christian homes. Some of the secrets of making your marriage heaven on earth are:
•Couples must respect each other’s opinion even in controversial matters. Nobody has a monopoly on wisdom; hence they must be able to counsel each other.
•The wife must submit to the Lordship of the husband. Some women have been misled by modern concepts to think submission is stupidity or slavery; this is not true, obedience to God’s word – no matter how illogical, brings success in life, including marriage.
•The husband must love his wife unconditionally. Don’t love her because of what you can gain from her, rather love her selflessly as Jesus loves the church. This is the only way to guarantee success in marriage Eph 5:25.
With these foundational truths and other lessons the Holy Spirit will teach as we study the word of God on marriage, every believing couple can be rest assured of a home that is heaven on earth.
