“Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.” Exodus 3:6 NIV
In the above scripture, God introduced Himself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The meaning of the name of a man gives you deep insight into the kind of person that fellow is. Thus, in order to get deep insight into who our God really is, let’s look at this introduction more deeply.
What is the implication of the fact that God is the God of Abraham? It means that He is a God of blessings. In Genesis 24:34-35, Abraham’s servant said, “God has blessed my master greatly”.
Also, the name “God of Abraham” tells us that He is a covenant-keeping God. Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us that He is a God who keeps covenants and we see that clearly in the case of Abraham in Exodus 2:23-24.
The God of Abraham is the God of blessings. Therefore, if you serve the God of Abraham, then you are entitled to the blessings of Abraham.
Father, thank You for being the God of blessings and a covenant keeper IJN.
