“Why don’t you bring me the sacrifices I desire? Bring me your true and sincere thanks, and show your gratitude by keeping your promises to me, the Most High.” Psalms 50:14 TPT
Jacob just experienced a miraculous deliverance from a difficult situation. As he reflected on God’s faithfulness, he felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude welling up within him. Rather than simply saying a quick “thank you” and moving on, Jacob decided to make his thankfulness a true sacrifice to God.
This kind of heartfelt, sacrificial thankfulness is what pleases God. “The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:23.
When we approach God with genuine gratitude, not just empty words, it $becomes a sweet-smelling offering that delights His heart.
Take time today to deeply reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness, respond with wholehearted worship and obedience.
Father, please teach us to offer true sacrifice of thanksgiving onto You always in Jesus name.
Shalom!
