“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
In Colossians 3:12-17, Paul admonishes Christians to put on certain virtues that will stand them out as the elect of God.
As children of God, these virtues must be worn conspicuously for the world to see. It is the means of confirming our heavenly candidacy, as well as drawing others to Christ.
Jesus shared a parable in Matthew 22:1-13 of a man who organized a wedding banquet for his son. The expected guests failed to show up so the invitation was extended to those on the streets and highways, who came in their multitudes.
The rich man, however, spotted one of the guests who was not putting on the expected wedding garment. He was taken out and punished. A Christian who fails to put on godly virtues can be likened to that wedding guest.
Father, please help me to shine your light on a daily basis in every area of my life IJN.
Shalom!
