“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15 NKJV
God wants us to be prosperous, but not materialistic. To love the world is to be materialistic and forget God.
We chase many things in life that we don’t need and God may not be ready to give them to us. The devil will suggest means by which we can get them so we can enjoy the pleasures that we do desire.
“He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.” Eccl 5:10 NKJV
Anything that you desire more than God, that you can offend God to acquire, is dangerous and can destroy you. Why should things prevent you from getting to heaven?
Beware!
Shalom!
