Choices Have Consequences

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.” Prov 3:5 KJV

Samson’s romance with a strange woman began in Judges 14 while his parents cautioned him.

In chapter 16, we saw that he threw caution to the wind by choosing to continue with the strange woman. So, it was not Delilah or the Philistines that killed Samson; it was Samson’s own choice that led him to his shameful and untimely death.

Though called of God, he clearly left God out of the equation. His lustful desires ruled his choices. He therefore, eventually had no choice but to face the consequences of his own choice.

The choices you made yesterday determine the outcomes you achieve today. Thus, when making decisions, always exercise caution and seek God’s mercy and direction. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death,” Proverbs 14:12.

Choices have consequences and the power to permanently shape or destroy one’s destiny. Watch your choices!

Father, please direct my thoughts and my choices according to your tender mercies IJN.

Shalom!
